Lady Blazers Fall At Home

The John Wood Women's Soccer team took on a tough and very physical State Fair Community College team today on Quincy Recycle Field. The match pace was quick and physical from the get-go, with State Fair setting the tone early and often. However, John Wood would answer and keep pace to make sure the tone wasn't in favor of one team more than the other.

John Wood would have a couple early look at the back of the next but would be unable to capitalize on those State Fair mistakes. State Fair would end the game with nine shots on goal and John Wood would have six shots on goal. Unfortunately, State Fair capitalized on their chances and found the back of net once in each half.

John Wood goalkeeper Kezia Bull gave her team a chance by having six saves on the day, but State Fair was just to much on the day to secure the shutout. The Lady Blazers look to bounce back in a few days against a good Southeastern CC team, when they travel to SECC for a 4pm tipoff on Tuesday September 9th.
