Women's Soccer Opens Season Strong

John Wood Women's soccer have one of the best and most solid team wins on Saturday. Saturday also marked the first home game of the season for the Lady Blazers and also became the biggest win differencial in John Wood women's soccer history. Many players contributed to the offense success, but the team was led by sophomore transfer Mya Wedderburn who had 3 goals and 1 assist. Isabella Arrieta also added 2 goals and 2 assists on the day. Several freshman made a positive effect for the Lady Blazers, including freshman Xixi Marquez, Lindsey Miller, and Elizabeth Settles. Each one added goals that helped propel the team to a team effort win. Freshman Goalkeeper Kezia Bull collected her first shutout on the season. "Overall, this was a huge team win to start the season, said Head Coach Hayley Womack-Sloup. Many players stepped up to add offense production and the defense stayed organized and kept control of the game".
Next game is an away game on Wednesday August 27th against Black Hawk College at 4pm.
