John Wood Survives Lewis and Clark At Home
The John Wood men's basketball team won 74-65 over Lewis and Clark Community College on Saturday, February 15. The Blazers (11-15) are 5-4 in Region 24 play and will look to keep the momentum going.
Lewis and Clark jumped ahead early, getting the 31-29 lead with 1:31 on the clock in the first half. The Blazers would then get several more baskets before the half, but Lewis and Clark would take a 40-31 lead going into the break. The Blazers pulled 61-59 ahead with seven left in the game, thanks to a three pointer by Isiah Banister. That basket would help John Wood earn their largest lead of the game thus far. The Blazers continued to push forward in the last several minutes thanks to back-to-back baskets from Nikos Connoway. Jakeb Wallingford would seal the game away with a fastbreak layup with 16 seconds left in the game. John Wood would go to hold on and win 74-65 and get a much-needed win.
Up next, the Blazers host Marshalltown Community College on Monday, February 17. The game is scheduled for 6:00 PM at John Wood Community College.
